Monday is the day that I can, if I want to, buy out of my iPhone contract and into the world of HTC Desire aka Android OS.
I have mixed views regarding my iPhone 3G. I miss some basic camera options such as focus and exposure control. I find the sometimes laggy interface down right annoying. And sometimes, I just find Apples/Jobs attitude arrogant and presumptuous.
Don’t get me wrong, having the iPhone has been a fantastic experience. I cannot imagine NOT having a portable internet connected device about my person. It is a big part of my life, as is having my always on Mac Mini - just could not NOT have it. You see, I am not a Mac hater :P
Basically, I just get bored with gadgets and I’ve had my iPhone for over a year now. The thought of upgrading to an iPhone 3Gs which would basically be just the same phone, for another TWO years is out of the question.
The main thing stopping me from switching handsets was the potential lack of iTunes syncing - I really like my Podcasts as was worried about how I could keep up that seamless integration that you get from Apple products. Well I have found the Missing Link application that does, wait for it, SYNC over WiFi - OMG how cool would that be :D
Ill blog back on Monday - if I have made that final step and swapped phones :P
